Question: I have been having pain in my scrotum for about 3 months now that has gotten worse. It is now there constantly throughout the day and feels like it’s throbbing it’s not a severe pain but it is enough to stop me in my tracks at time. There is also a firm lump in my scrotum.

Brief Answer:
Please get scrotum ultrasound scan done

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

Hope you are not in much pain.
A problem as mentioned by you needs a scrotum ultrasound for detailed examination and to rule out any lump.

At times a lump might be felt due to inflammation of the spermatic cord or the epididymis and such a lump is usually in the upper part of the scrotum or root of scrotum.

A lump in the testis is usually in the mid or lower scrotum.

A firm lump in the skin of the scrotum separately felt from the testis can be an abscess or any benign lesion.

If there is not much pain but throbbing pain at times then it can be a subacute inflammation.

Request you to please follow up with your doctors and get a scrotum ultrasound scan done.

Regards,
