I Have An Issue With Porn/sex Addiction Do You Think Castration Would Be A Good Idea?

Question: Hello!
This is embarrassing to admit too. I have an issue with porn/sex addiction. I have tried therapy to help with the sex addiction it didn't help. I don't like the idea of medication so I'm talking to a doctor that performs bilateral orchiectomies. I think castration would be my best route. The important thing is to be healthy and happy.

I've been doing some research and realized castration does come with benefits. Granted it will hurt a man's ability to have a child and decrease sex drive. Outside of that, it extends a man's lifespan. It lowers the risk of cancer and high blood pressure and prevents the need for birth control. For those that want kids adoption is possible.
Do you think castration would be a good idea?

Brief Answer:
castration is totally not advisable for multiple of reasons.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

First of all feel free to discuss your health issues with a Doctor without panic, there are millions of persons like you and this is curable condition clinically without surgery dear.

* Sex addiction is not only caused by testosterone from testicles, it is underlying sub
concious elements, life style factors, possible childhood issues responsible for the
condition being present as a cluster.

* I do not agree with the thought of bilateral orchidectomy which is not the definite cure
for your case.
Testis will remove physical urge, what would be about the psychologic urge ?

* Lot many things will follow surgery which are not being thought here as side effects in
terms of hot flushes, depression, osteoporosis and so forth.

My guidelines at present

@ Discuss thoroughly with your psychologist as best therapy to control and cure this is

- Behavior therapy
- Thought process alterations with counselling sessions
- Suggestion therapy

* In a nut shell, the idea of bilateral orchidectomy requires a very thorough revision with
exploration of all the possible curative ways rather than ending up in unwanted
problems.

Feel free to discuss further according to your evaluation of my answer.
Thanks.
