I Have A Weird Numb Feeling In The Muscle Below

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Jan 2020
Question: I have a weird numb feeling in the muscle below my left breast.
It doesn't hurt unless I bend over. 2 days ago I was moving some washing and bending over and got a cramp in the muscle I'm concerned about. I'm concerned it may be a hernia or something worse.
I am an extremely overweight (200kg) female, 36 years old.
I suffer from edema in my legs and lower belly. Pcos. Anxiety and depression.
I take 300mg venlafaxine a day, 500mg metformin, 50mg diclofenac a day.

Brief Answer:
muscle or ligament spasm.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advice.

* As per my clinical experience, the pain narrated by you involving area
below the left breast which has started after a certain activity indicates muscle
or ligament spasm most likely.

The possibility of hernia is very unlikely with this explanation.

- As you are taking analgesic tablet Diclofenac, in addition to that local
application of heating pad for 5 minutes each 3 times a day will sooth to
better extent.
- Avoid weight lifting or compression over the area during sleep.

Let me know about your further queries and follow up as per your need.
Wish you best recovery.

Regards.
