I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms are typical of costochondritis.

The fact that pressure on the chest triggers the pain indicates musculoskeletal pain ( costochondritis).

As a cardiologist,I I would exclude any possible cardiac disorders considering your description.

So, there is no reason to panic!

I would just recommend using warm local packs and taking ibuprofen or acetaminophen for the pain.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

I went to the gym today but didn’t do any arm/chest work as I’m worried I’ll work my chest more.

But since coming home my chest is sorer, every so often it’s like a muscle spasm cross my chest.

I have a pulse machine and it said 66 and oxygen 98

I’m worried because the pain it’s quiet sore when it comes, but to press is still sore too.

My opinion as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information!

Based on your description, I would exclude any possible cardiac disorders.

I still think that this is a musculoskeletal pain, as it hurts when you press on it.

Anyway, if the pain persists, despite taking painkillers (acetaminophen, ibuprofen), I would recommend performing some tests:

- complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation
- a chest X ray study .

In the meantime, I would recommend taking ibuprofen and an antiacid to help against acid reflux, which can mimic this clinical situation.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr.Iliri
