I Have A Blister On My Left Foot, Little Toe
I'm a foreigner (Australian) in Japan on holidays. I only have walking shoes. If I need a doctor I may not be able to get one until the day after tomorrow as I'm travelling 5 hours back to Tokyo.
Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the Ask a Doctor service.
I have gone through your query carefully. Here are my inputs:
* Please get your fasting and post-prandial glucose levels checked. Sometimes diabetes can go unnoticed and that can lead to delayed wound healing.
* Please upload an image of the blister. It will help me to determine what it is all about.
* Use soft soled shoes. Improper distribution of pressure can lead to foot ulcers.
I will await your response.
Regards

I've attached the photos but I'm not sure if they are showing up.
There, that should work.
Have you received any photos yet?

Regular dressing is needed
Detailed Answer:
Sorry for the inadvertent delay in responding.
I have checked the image. It looks concerning. Please get the blood sugar level checked. I would insist on regular dressing. This is important.

I have had my blood sugar levels checked a few months ago, fasting and non - fasting. I'm not diabetic. What can I dress it with that I can get from a local pharmacy? Gauze? Blister specific bandaid? Wash with saline? Is it ok if it gets wet daily during bathing? I'm currently taking antibiotics (cefalexin) to prevent infection. Please advise.
Brief Answer:
Proper dressing is important
Detailed Answer:
Wash with normal saline. Apply povidone iodine (betadine). Try to prevent the dressing from getting wet.
