Question: I had been taken Diane35 for a year almost because of PCOS. I tried stopping in the middle but instead I missed 3 cycles because of not taking the medicine. I lost around 10kgs now and I have stopped the medicine again. I still havent got my periods , what should I do

Brief Answer:
Get some investigations done to rule out the cause of your symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting us about your healthcare.
I have gone through your history and understand your concern.

As you are having XXXXXXX pill irregularly your period becomes irregular and it could be due to hormonal imbalance caused by PCOD.

I'd suggest getting your Hb, thyroid profile and pelvic ultrasound to rule out the cause of your symptoms.

Weight loss could be due to some other reasons also.
Are you having any other symptoms like fever, vomiting?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

No I do not have any other symptoms. I was told that once I maintain a healthy diet and reduce weight I can go off the pill. So that’s what I tried, now am considering taking the pills again. I had read that it takes time for the periods to come back to normal and hence it’s ok if you don’t get for a month or so. Am confused. Also is it preferable to take the pills for soo long ?

Brief Answer:
You can wait and watch for your menses.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Sorry for the delay in my response.

PCOD is an endocrine disorder may cause menstrual irregularities ( as in your case as well)
Diet changes and exercise is helpful in your case, you can start the medicine and continue for 3 cycles.

Hope you found useful, feel free to ask for more information.
Good luck
Regards
