Detailed Answer:
Hello Lisa!

Welcome back on -Ask a Doctor- service!

I reviewed again your uploaded ECG records and would explain that besides some nonspecific changes regarding repolarization there is nothing abnormal regarding your rhythm or cardiac conduction.

Those nonspecific changes may be due to blood pressure fluctuations, as no evidence of increased cardiac wall thickness (a usual cause ST segment depression) results from your cardiac echo report.

Regarding your palpitations feelings I would recommend an ambulatory ECG monitoring test (24 hours Holter) for investigating any possible arrhythmic events not identifiable in a short ECG recordings.

In addition other factors should be sought as well, like anemia, thyroid dysfunction, electrolytes imbalance, etc.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

In case of any further questions, feel free to ask me again!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Thank you so much! What exactly is repolarization ? I found the echo report from 2 years ago but the last report taken at another facility was diastolic dysfunction at 1.. I could not pull up that report..it it hard to diagnose from a echo? Someone told me that I should not drink a lot of water with this condition??? Never heard that before!

I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Regarding your concern, I would explain that repolarization is part demonstrating the relaxation of myocardial tissue (after the contraction cycle has finished).

But your ECG changes are not specific for any cardiac structural abnormalities.

From the other side, I would explain that grade I diastolic dysfunction does not denote any specific cardiac disease.

It may be a reversible or transient finding and is usually dependent on the loading conditions (such as high blood pressure).

Not rarely, when the blood pressure values are properly under control, it may disappear.

So, in my opinion, you have nothing to worry about!

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
