Question: I found out that my ldl-p is high at 1200.. but my particle size is at 21.3..does this usually mean that I will have heart problems? They did an npr test on me.. because I have been having skipped heartbeats and my cholesterol was on the higher side..at 238.. what does this mean..is it an accurate test?

Brief Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
I hope you are taking good care of yourself in this tough pandemic.

Yes, your particle size is high but other values are not bad and are acceptably on the higher side so need not worry, you have rocked till now and you will keep rocking. Here are few tips:

*Eat a diet very rich in soluble fiber (BYOBB) – Beans, Yams, Oats, Barley, and Berries.
*Eat fewer refined carbohydrates.
*Eat much less saturated and trans fats and cholesterol.
*Exercise regularly, and.
*Lose excess weight.

Your ideal body weight should be between 135-160 lbs. I know you are taking care of your diet and exercise, just keep maintaining the healthy lifestyle routine.

Also I would like to add a pill of baby aspirin on a daily basis.

Just relax and stay positive. You are not having any heart disease, alright!

God Bless, take care.

You are so amazing! I know I have health anxiety and work so hard to help my body stay healthy but they keep doing tests that scare me with the results! Will I be able to lower my ldl-p with losing weight and following your tips? Is it still ok to not take the statin? Is this the cause of my skipped heartbeats? If I get a little excited I can feel my heart skip is that normal? I pray that you are staying healthy in this awful pandemic.. your country has been so affected .. I am praying for a turnaround in your country!

Brief Answer:
Hello again

Detailed Answer:
I would rather like you to keep taking statin for just 2 more months and then repeat your lipid profile. After that you hopefully won’t require it.

Yes, stress and anxiety are among the common reasons for skipped beats. Having them occasionally throughout the day is okay. Just forget and enjoy your life. Happiness cures.

Thanks for your blessings. We will bounce back as always.

May god bless us all.

My Regards Ma’am

I am not on any statins now .. I really don’t want to be on them unless it is absolutely necessary.. do you think it is dangerous not to be on them with my high elevated particles?

Brief Answer:
Hello again

Detailed Answer:
You can take small dose of Atorvastatin 20 mg, it won’t give any trouble in most cases. It’s advisable as your ldl cholesterol levels are on the higher side and probably you won’t be able to workout enough in order to bring these levels down just by diet and exercise.

See no studies have convincingly proven the benefits of taking statins in reducing particle size in particular.

Kind Regards
