There should be 79 pills left in bottle if I took it, and there are, so I probably did take it, but I just don%E2%80%99t rember taking it. Is the drug still in my system if adose is missed? I take it every mornig. Will I be ok just missing one dose?

Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

I understand your concern and would like to know the dose of metoprolol that you are taking.

You should know that this drug acts for 12-24 hours. Its main action is on the heart rate, by reducing heart rate.

So, the main thing to expect if you miss a dose is a higher heart rate. In case you take a double dose you will be at risk for low heart rate.

Coming to this point, I would recommend wait and see if your heart rate increases or you will feel palpitations in the next hours. In such case, I would recommend taking another pill.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Thank you for the additional information!

I recommend the same: wait and see if your heart rate is going to increase or you will experience any palpitations. In such case take another pill.

This way, you would help prevent taking a double pill.

Hope to have been helpful to you!
