Question: I am Rajesh G and I am raising ticket on behalf of my Brother in Law Mr GananaSekar. Please refer to the message and attachment from my brother-in-law.

I am GananaSekar and i am furnishing the details of my wife Bhuvaneswari.
1) Bhubaneswari had a fever for 15 days, for a week she took Dolo 650.
2) She was admitted to Best hospital on Wed, 01-Jun
3) Antibiotics and medicines were given in the hospital for the next 5 days.
4) CT Scan was not taken as the pregnancy test turned out to be positive.
5) Beta Hcg test revealed 300+. Repeated the tests and it was between 65+ & 75+
6) In the meantime fever got reduced,
7) CT scan was taken after 5 days and found that the embryo of size 1 cm was present in the tube. (Dr has informed it as tube pregnancy)
8) Treatment (Infection first dose) started to remove the embryo from the tube. Some small tissue came out on bleeding.
9) Second-day second dose was given, however, there was no bleeding or any other
10) Beta Hcg values were fluctuating between 200 to 300. (Dr recommended us to wait till Beta Hcg comes down to 2)
11) Dr informed that one option is to get the Embryo out or it will get dissolved in the blood.
12) Dr informed if the pain or vomiting or dizziness starts then the only option is to remove the tube by laparoscopic surgery.
13) As of now there are no symptoms pain or vomiting of dizziness.
14) Beta Hcg test will be taken again on Mon, 20-Jun-2022

Requesting your help on the following Queries:
1) Ultrasound scan clearly reveals that the 1 CM embryo is still present in the tube.
2) Will the lifeless embryo cause any problems in the future or cause any damage to other organs?
3) Can we wait for a few days to a few weeks to see if Beta Hcg gets reduced.
4) Will it cause any problems for future pregnancy?
5) If the embryo doesn't come out, is there a possibility of the embryo getting dissolved in the blood?

Thanks and Regards

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Ask a Doctor.
The small size embryo usually does not cause problem.
As long as she is feeling fine and has no pain abdomen, vomiting , dizziness, you can wait for few days. The embryo usually gets dissolved.
What was the Beta hcg level on 20 th. If it is still lingering around 200 and not decreasing, discuss with your doctor about medical management with Methotrexate injection. If it is decreasing, repeat the test once in 4 days to see the trend.
Managing the tubal pregnancy with observation or medical treatment does not cause problems with future pregnancy.
I hope you have answered your concerns.
If you have further queries, I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Ramadevi Wani

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
This reduction in beta hcg is fairly good.
When the test is repeated on Monday , the level should be at least below 100.
Do write after the test.
In the meantime, if any pain abdomen, vomiting or dizziness occurs, she should immediately report to hospital.
Best wishes
Dr Ramadevi
