default
Posted on Tue, 10 Nov 2015
Question: My mother is 86 and in relatively good health. She takes Losartan for her blood pressure. She has always been very sensitive to chemicals and medications, and is currently having several side effects from the Losartan. She wants to get off of this med. How can we wean her off it, and start her on some homeopathy?

Thanks, XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting with your concern and before opting for any natural/alternative medicine do furnish following details:

1. What are the side effects or Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) which she is experiencing?

2. What is the dose and duration of her medicine since before tapering DOSE is necessary?

3. Since duration of taking medicine is 4 years thus was any opinion of Cardiologist taken in between and were any investigations performed?

4. Under no circumstances you should discontinue/stop the drug without first consulting with your doctor and do let him know about any alternative therapy which you will go to start.
