Brief Answer:
Radiation exposure occurs with CT head

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
One CT scan head leads to exposure of 2 msv (milisievert) equivalent to 8 months of naturally occurring radiation exposure.
The number of slice depends upon CT machines and acquisitions protocol.
16 slice and 64 slice are most commonly available.
Routinely 16 slice CT is used for head imaging.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Answered by Dr. Neeraj Kumar (24 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Exposure is organ and slice related

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The radiation exposure is quoted variable and may vary from 0.9 to 2 msv.
The radiation exposure in 64 slice is about 25% more than in 16 slice CT.
Per slice estimation is not done as imaging is done for whole organ.
