Question: I had unprotected sex/intercourse with my husband on 27th aug night and took an ipill next day around 5 pm. Again I had unprotected sex to the full on 29th night and the ejaculation happened inside my vagina. Do I need to take another pill on 30th Aug to make sure that I don't get pregnant. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Yes the drug should be taken because with time effectiveness decreases.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Welcome to Health Care Magic

I can understand your problem. You have to understand that iPill is an emergency contraceptive pill and should be reserved only for emergency. These pills shouldn't be taken only in emergency and should be avoided to be used on regular basis.

You have taken the pill 3 days back and in general these drugs claim to effectiveness for 72 hours. But as the time passes chances of failure of drug increases progressively. You had intercourse yesterday and in my opinion you should take the pills and wait for withdrawal bleeding.

Please try to avoid using these pills and these are associated with side effects. Try to request your husband to use protection next time.

Thanks, If you want to ask more things ask again.

Yes I would surely be keeping this in mind that I don't use these pills again in future. Just want to know whether taking this pill for a second time (in 3 days) won't have a severe effect on my health specially at a later state or on my child (if I have in future). what would be the effect and will it be temporary?

Hello thanks for asking a follow up

No taking the drug second time with in 3 days would not have any severe effects at later stage or on your child. You might have bleeding and this would be temporary. No need to fear.

Try to avoid ipills use frequently in future, keep these drugs reserved only for emergency situations.

Thanks.
