Hi

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for using healthcaremagic.

sorry to hear about your daughters accident.

Usually if they removed the dark dead skin there should be a wound. Such a wound where skin is removed usually needs to be grafted. She might require a skin graft. You need to take her to see a plastic surgeon or at least a general surgeon who can refer you to a plastic surgeon to do the needful.

I had a look at the pictures and it's a deep wound. It will not heal on its own soon and even if it does in a few weeks or so there will be extensive scarring. Skin grafting would be the best for now to achieve proper wound coverage quick and then once it heals we can work on
minimizing scarring.

But the best would be to see a local plastic surgeon, so he or she can do the needful asap. Once the grafting is done her pain will also reduce significantly.

Wishing her a speedy recovery

Thank you for your suggestion. Actually we consulted a surgeon here and he told that it can be either healed by skin grafting or by its own by regular dressing. My daughter preferred second option.she want to go to work and she told she will do the dressing by herself. It started healing by the sides as shown in the pic. For doing plastic surgery also,2 months rest is needed.so preferred second option. First, she wants the wound to be healed. After wound healing,is it possible to make plastic surgery? How much time approximately it may take for this wound to heal ?

Hello

Thank you for your reply.

Yes all wounds would eventually heal but it all depends on how it heals and how long it takes. I would have preferred to do the grafting and by a week or 10 days the wound would have healed and with less scarring.

The problem is like this will take time and the pain is still there.

But since she is already on the way to recovery and she is ok with the progress you can continue the same and then deal with th scar later on. But you can take a call on it later once it is all healed.

What has to be done for the scar once it's healed will depend on how it heals. But usual course is to remove the scar and graft it .
Wishing her a speedy recovery
