How Long Do Side Effects Of Chlorhexidine Rinse Last?
Question: how long does side efficts last with clhorexidine rinse. I have unusual and unpleasant tast and lost of taste. I'ts been 6 mounths.

Usually chlorhexidine will not cause loss of taste sensation for so long. For few mins yes it might but not for as long as you mentioned of 6 months.
Taste sensation is carried by glossopharyngeal nerve to the brain. Its one of the cranial nerve.
There might be something wrong with that.
I would advice you to consult a neurologist to get your cranial nerves clinically examined to look for whether there is any loss of function of any of the nerve.
Usually there might be associated symptoms alongwith that. Are you having any other neurological symptoms with that?
After clinical examination certain investigations like CT or MRI brain might be required if doctor feels necessary.
Another reason could be loss of tongue surface containing taste sensors. Which can occur in chronic anemia which we call as bald tongue.
For either of the reason clinical examination is must and helpful. And I will advice you the same.
