Question: I am a 47 year old female. I recently came up positive for covid. I am currently on day 8. My headache and sore throat seemed to have passed but I am still suffering with fatigue and feeling flushed (no fever) at random times through the day. There is also some lingering nasal congestion. I thought most symptoms pass after 5 days. How long can covid last and what can I do to speed up healing.

Brief Answer:
It depends on your overall

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your query.

The actual circulating variants of COVID-19 generaly do not cause severe diseases.Considering your symptoms ,i can sat that you had a mild form of COVID -19 and now your are in the recovery time.

It could take 2 weeks for your body to get over a mild illness or up to 6 weeks for severe cases. Sometimes some symptoms can persist for longtime and it is called long Covid.

Recovery varies for different people, depending on your age and your overall health. You are a young and healthy woman(no chronic conditions mentioned in your medical history),so you have good chances for a quick and total recovery.

My advices for you:
-Eat healthy foods -fuel your body with the vitamins and nutrients it needs to get better. Limit highly processed foods like cookies and sodas. Appetite comes with eating!
-Drinks lots of fluids. Water is always a good pick.
-Manage stress
-Have qualitative sleep
-Supplement of Vit C,Vit D and Zinc can be helpful to shorten the duration of COVID-related symptoms.

Hope this is helpful.
Take care
