How Long After Withdrawal From Orencia Will Immune System Get Normal?
Question: I'm taking Orencia for mild RA (3 years) I'd like to stop infusions because I need cosmetic facial filler. How long after stopping Orencia will my suppressed immune system return to its original condition.

Abatacept (Orencia) is a monoclonal antibody and not really an immunosuppressant. It does not depress your overall immunity, it just tends to remove specific antibodies that are responsible for an autoimmune reaction. I do not think that it needs to be stopped if you want to get a cosmetic facial filler. Since immunosuppression is not directly applicable, the question of suppressed immune system returning to normal does not apply.
