Question: I have had W brain MRI,s done 6 years apart both showing white spots. They are growing or shrinking. I am in horrible pain. Easily fatigued just do something little feels like I have done it all day. Problems with swallowing. Can not get to bathroom on time every time. I had an ear plugged where I could not dr said was infection. When it opened back up before it closed and now ear popping and always feels like fluid. On a scale of one to 10 my lower back is a 12. Muscle cramps all over body. Forget where I put stuff, have trouble flinging the right word to say. Loose concentration. Lost my last 4 jobs because I am too slow. Never lost a job before that. I have had lymes in past all tests are now negative. Other symptoms I forgot my feet and ankles swell huge for no reason, have difficulty swallowing, choking on food, always feels like food is stuck in back of throat numbness in toes. And my hand is tingling and hurting because I am holding iPad. Serious anxiety, don’t go to stores and afraid to drive after 48 years. Doctors and especially Pain management have just brushed these mri’s off and I just found out about them this past Dec 2017 when I had a bout with MRSA out of no where. Dr at er said I was about a day or 2 away from being put on ventilator. I also have toes go numb and turn white. When I go outside into heat I sweat from every part of my body and see dark spots and feel lightheaded. My knees are also hurting so bad as well. Please let me know your opinion. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Several conditions to be considered. Read below.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Since your symptoms are nonspecific and include several parts and organs of your body, conditions that may cause such systemic issues should be considered and evaluated further.

White spots in brain MRI don't justify such symptoms and may be caused by blood pressure changes, age-related, etc.

In my opinion, conditions to evaluate further include low thyroid gland function, vasculitis due to autoimmune disorders, fibromyalgia (may cause widespread pain and cognitive changes ), low vitamin B12 levels, multiple sclerosis, etc.

Discuss with your primary care Doctor about getting evaluated further with the appropriate blood tests about these conditions and further consultations with a Neurologist, Endocrinologist, Rheumatologist in order to have a correct diagnosis.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
