default
Posted on Tue, 13 Jun 2017
Question: I'm a 35 yr old female. a couple of months ago I broke out in some type of skin problems on my buttocks. one of the spots had a huge knot and ended up popping on its own and had a cream color puss come out. since then the break out has gotten worse. then on May 15th when I was on vacation in Florida I broke out everywhere on my body and it itches bad. I went to see an immediate care Dr for this and he said it was hives and gave me steroids and hydrocortisone and benadryl which hasn't phased it. it's gotten wkrae.  also on May 12rh before I left for vacation I was really sick  with a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes and weak tired and chills and seats. I've also been diagnosed with psoriasis in the past but this looks different

Brief Answer:
Either pityriasis rosea or eczematous rash, steroids and antihistaminics

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints as well as reviewed the attached photographs.
It seems to be either pityriasis rosea which is self limiting skin eruption usually associated with viral infection or an eczematous eruption.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like clobetasol propionate cream diluted in a moisturising lotion in the ratio of 1:4 on the affected areas of the body twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg twice daily for 3-4 weeks.
Pityriasis rosea is self limiting disease which can take upto 6-8 weeks to subside.
Steroidal preparations are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.

Dr Asmeet
