Question: I had a boil in the upper crack of butt. It was a big painful boil for about 2 days. Then it pop and alot of puss and blood came out. Now it has leave a small hole, i put a bandaid on it but a little puss and blood still comes out. It has been about a day. The pain has gone down a lot when I sit. Also I have no fever. It is still a little hard around the hole.

I am concern about this hole. How long do you think it will take to heal and what can I do this help this heal.

Brief Answer:
One week

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
The wound looks healthy and puss is drained.
You need to apply an antibacterial cream like mupirocine twice daily for a week to prevent secondary infection.
Make sure to keep the area clean.
You can wash with normal saline water twice daily.
With these efforts it should take around a week's time for complete recovery.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
