Question: I have a very close friend that was prescribed Xanax xr for years and because of the strict addiction laws in our state(Washington) they took him off of it. His health has deteriorated such that he has been in the er twice and has taken falls and bruised himself. He sits and has his legs constantly moving and has no appetite. He cannot sleep and I don't know what to do for him. He is 70 yrs old.

Hi,

This happens if you take Xanax from less authorized physicians. They have a limit to prescribe it and when law enforcers they withdraw is suddenly leading to Xanax withdrawal symptoms, your friend currently is in that state.

I suggest taking to Xanax Detox centre or any substance withdrawal centres in your state. Their prescribing limits are relaxing. They can prescribe Xanax and gradually withdraw it over a month by putting long acting Valium (diazepam) kind of drugs.
Xanax detox centers or similar centres may also include holistic methods, such as yoga, massage therapy, meditation and, acupuncture, to relieve stress and encourage healing.
