How Can Testosterone Levels Be Increased?
Question: How can I BEST raise my testrostrone? I'm 74 and labs show it is very very low. Androgel or shots weekly?

Both Androgel and Intramuscular testosterone injections increase the testosterone levels in the body. Side effect profile are also similar for the two. There is not enough data available proving one form of testosterone administration is better than other.
Some studies have shown better improvement clinically in patients using Androgel, however, there was no difference in blood levels of testosterone when comparing Androgel to injection.

I have used Androgel about 3 years, but changed to injections about 6 months ago. Do you think I should go back to using the Androgel daily--what is the XXXXXXX I can safetly put on each shoulder--doing 2 on each shoulder now.

If Androgel seems to be working better you can definitely switch from injection to Androgel. However, you should not use the injection and Androgel simultaneously.
The dosage of Androgel depends on your serum testosterone levels and the dose is titrated according to your response to treatment. You can continue your current dosage of Androgel and follow up with your treating physician to get the serum testosterone levels done.
Depending on the Testosterone level dose can be adjusted accordingly. Please be advised not to increase the dose without getting testosterone levels checked.
