Question: Hi there I’m almost 6 weeks pregnant, 39 years old. For three days have had mild cramping in the day but gets worse when I lay down at night. Slight discharge only three times but nothing major. Should I be worried?

Brief Answer:
Mild cramping are nothing to worry about.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

The mild cramping in pregnancy are usually not of importance. When you say discharge you mean blood spotting or increased vaginal discharge without colour?
If it is blood spotting and in very small amount only three times I don't think this is something to worry about.
If the spotting continues and cramping too, you may need to consult your gynaecologist.
If the bleeding is increasing especially if it is red blood with clots and severe cramping you should go to ER.
If the discharge is white or yellow possibly it may be related to infection. In this case you may need to do a vaginal smear.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
