Question: Hi Sir/Madam,
I got married 5 years ago and now I am 29 years old. I have undergone fertility treatments including IUI but all went negative. Today AMH hormone test has done and the level is 0.38 against the normal level of 4 -6. I would like to know the importance of this hormone for getting pregnant and how can I increase the level of this hormone. Did IVF is the only option for getting pregnant due the low level of this hormone?

Thank you for your time..

Brief Answer:
Detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for sharing your health concern with us.

I have gone through your query and would like to offer some information.

AMH or anti-Mullerian hormone is useful in regulating the development of follicles and reserving them for future cycles.

Lower levels are observed when the ovarian reserve is lowered for various reasons. Vitamin D deficiency can alter the findings and hence, needs to be corrected before obtaining the AMH titers.

In the current scenario, with lower values, induction of ovulation and IVF is a good option to think of. Please upload any relevant reports so I can comment better.

Medical treatment is useful to increase the hormone titers. Supplements of Vitamin D in case of deficiency are also needed.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

regards,
Shanti.V.
