Question:      Hi, I’m a 23 years old male almost finishing college and I can say during the last two years I have been experiencing irregularities in my body and how I feel almost every day. These feelings are nervous, one example is that I feel nervous most of the time in public and I start to sweat excessively under the arms as soon as I walk out the door but not all the time. I also feel nervous talking to strangers or people I see less often and it seems like in these situations I always get in a loop where I’m only searching for the proper words to say during conversations to be have an ok relationship with people I will have to see again. And if I’m talking to a friend that I feel comfortable with it changes as soon as other people join in, it might be helpful to know that I don’t talk loudly like am trying to let everyone around me know what am talking about so I mostly tend to talk in a low voice. When I’m in public it feels heavy to breathe and sitting in class next to people who move unexpectedly (for me ofc) makes me startle and I react mostly by moving too as if I got startled and it just bothers me how this is affecting both my studies and relationships. What kind of doctors you suggest I see for someone who feels jumpy in public and even when I’m alone I feel like I want to sprint out of nowhere and move in a burst so another way to describe it is that I don’t feel like I’m in rhythm and my nerves are not relaxed unless I put an effort in relaxing myself through meditation or deep intentional breathing. One note I want to add is that trying cold showers made it better for me but that was only a minor relief

Brief Answer:
The symptoms are suggestive of anxiety disorder.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
The symptoms you have described are typical of anxiety disorder. Excessive anxiety leads to distress which can cause impairment on your daily activities.
In your case a variant called social anxiety disorder will be the more appropriate diagnosis.
Avoid unwanted stress and anxiety. Relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation can help a bit.
Consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated. Most cases respond well to cognitive behavioural therapy(CBT) and counselling. In resistant cases medical management with anti anxiety drugs will be needed.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks
