Question: Hi I was tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea 4 months ago 10 days after incident and received a negative test result. I was given a 1g azithromycin and 500mg 3x daily of amoxicillin for 1 week. Whats the chances of a false negative and if I did have gonorrhea would thr precautionary medicine have gotten rid of it?

Thanks for query .
Based on the facts that you have posted you were tested for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia 10 days after having sexual contacts and the results were negative .

Normally both these infections are at their high levels one week after the sexual contact hence these tests are routinely carried out after week and give accurate results .

Since you were given appropriate antibiotics in time there are every possibilities of infection being eradicated.
