Question: Hello, looking for advice regarding swelling in the left testicle.

Pain and swelling began approx 5 weeks ago. Was given Levaquin (levofloxacin) for 3 weeks, with some symptoms going down, but not completely away. It has been one week without treatment and still experiencing swelling and pain. What should I be concerned about (low sperm count) and what prescription should I be using next? I want to stop this as soon as possible. Thank you

Brief Answer:
It takes 2-3 months to resolve the problem completely

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query ,
Based on the facts that you have posted the pain and swelling of the left testicle that you have is mostly due to infection of either Epididymis (Epididymitis )or Testicle ( Orchitis).

I shall be happy if you can post me more details to help me in making precise comments .
1) Have you done Urine culture test?
2) Have you done Ultrasound Scanning of Scrotum?

Normally it takes 2-3 months to resolve the issue completely.

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.

.Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis

In the meaan time continue taking Levofloxacin in addition to anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac and serropeptidase (Chymoral Forte ) twice daily.

Ensure to drink more water to keep your urine dilute

Ensure to use Scrotal support .This will help to reduce pain.

Avoid sexual activities till it gets cured completely

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
