Hello. I Have Been Feeling Somewhat Dizzy And Light Headed

Posted on Sat, 27 Jun 2020
Question: Hello. I have been feeling somewhat dizzy and light headed on and off throughout the day since Tuesday, and sometimes right after I eat I feel dizzy. I was wondering if it is possible that my blood sugar or pressure is low? I feel kinda hot from time to time as well. I feel I may have acid reflux too because I was taking pills without enough water. Thank you for your time.

Brief Answer:
Reactive hypoglycemia possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I think that the dizziness and light headiness after eating may be related to hypoglycemia.
It is recommended to check the sugar levels fasting, post prandial and HBA1C. Reactive hypoglycemia may show increased insulin secretions.
You should check your diet reducing carbohydrates and sweetened drinks , increasing proteins and vegetables.
About the reflux you should try to eat at least 3 hours before bed,eat small portions and avoid acidic foods.
If you are having a delay of periods you better do a pregnancy test because reflux and dizziness may be early symptoms of pregnancy too.

Hope I have answered the question.

I had a period but it was a slow flowing one with regular cramping. Also, I took black cohosh pills for a few days and soon after that I started to feel strange and get digestive issues. I have gotten diarrhea twice only after eating spicy stuff during the last few days so i stopped eating spicy. I stopped taking the pills on Monday, but i heard black cohosh can cause the symptoms Im having in many women and stay in your system. I may try a detox.

Brief Answer:
It is good you stopped it.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.

I think the symptoms you are having may be related to black cohosh usage. Stomach upset, reflux, rash, and flashes may be related to taking black cohosh.

It is good you stopped it and wait for some days to feel better. Meanwhile, keep yourself hydrated.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
