Hello, I Am Taking 30 Mg Of Latuda Twice A

Question: Hello, I am taking 30 mg of Latuda twice a day for schizoaffective disorder, 100 mg of Luvox once a day for OCD and anxiety, 5 mg of propranolol twice a day for tachycardia, 150 mg of trileptal once a day for mood stabilization, and 75 mg of wellbutrin once a day for depression. It said on the internet that propranolol, luvox, and wellbutrin increase the levels of Latuda and vice versa. It also said that luvox and wellbutrin increase the levels of each other and that wellbutrin increases the level of propranolol. I was feeling a little bit of an overdose like there was too much medication in my body. Will this combination of medications cause an overdose of latuda, wellbutrin, luvox, or propranolol since the levels are increased?

Brief Answer:
Unlikely at the current dosage

Detailed Answer:
Dear Soniya,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all it is true that what you read over internet is true and the prescribed medications alter the metabolism of each other.

However the interaction becomes significant when the prescribed dose is too high or near the upper dose limit of recommended dosage. For example you are using 10 mg propranolol but the recommended dose is 8--240 mg per day among young individuals. Similarly the dose of latuda is 60 mg per day in your case which is 80-160 mg per day in similar age individuals. Same is true for wellbutrin, Luvox and trileptal.

Although it is important to discuss every perceived symptom with your doctor as presence of any symptoms requires deliberate discussion with treating psychiatrist/physician but the chances are very low unless you are slow metabolizer for any of the prescribed medications.

It is also important to emphasise that for presence of side effects higher dose is not necessary. Considering this fact it becomes more urgent to discuss the issue with your treating doctor.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
