Hello, I Am Taking 30 Mg Latuda Twice A Day

Question: Hello, I am taking 30 mg Latuda twice a day for schizoaffective disorder, 100 mg of Luvox once a day for OCD and anxiety, 5 mg of propranolol twice a day for tachycardia, 150 mg of trileptal once a day for mood stabilization, and today my doctor added 75 mg of wellbutrin for depression. It said on the internet that wellbutrin can rarely cause seizures and combining it with latuda can increase that risk since latuda can also cause seizures. After taking my first dose of wellbutrin, I felt shaky and had an unusual taste in my mouth and it said on Google that these are warning signs of seizures. Do you think I'm at risk of getting a seizure?

Brief Answer:
Google is partially true

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

It is true that Wellbutrin can cause seizures as it lowers seizure threshold but it mostly takes place in predisposed individuals. I mean to say that those who have history of seizures or conditions causing seizures (e.g head injury) can have fresh seizure episodes. In otherwise normal individuals the seizure risk is similar to population risk.

In addition we need to understand that trileptal is part of your prescription which increases the seizure threshold. I mean to say that it offsets any seizure risk attributed with use of wellbutrin and luvox.

Regarding the warning signs I do not think what google says is correct. There are no definite warning signs.

I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
