Question: Hello, I am taking 1.5 mg vraylar once a day for schizoaffective disorder, 100 mg luvox once a day for OCD, 150 mg of trileptal in the morning and 300 mg of trileptal at night for mood stabilization, 5 mg of propranolol twice a day for tachycardia, 0.5 mg of klonopin in the morning and 1 mg of klonopin at night for anxiety, and 150 mg of wellbutrin xl in the morning for depression. Today I took 300 mg of wellbutrin xl because my doctor increased the dosage and my heart rate went up to 140. So I took another 5 mg of propranolol and it went down to 105. So should I continue taking 300 mg xl and just increase the propranolol or should I go back to taking 150 mg xl? And do you think the high heart rate means I have a cardiac arrhythmia or something wrong with the electrical system of my heart because of the increase in the dosage of the wellbutrin?

Brief Answer:
Cold be a temporary side effect

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome here.

Sometimes, increase in dose of bupropion can cause increase in heart rate. This is not always suggestive of cardiac arrhythmia or electrical abnormalities of heart.

This side effect should settle after 4-5 days of taking the drug regularly. You can take propranolol (under your treating doctor's supervision) for.

If the increased heart rate persists, shift back to 150mg of bupropion and discuss this with your doctor.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
