Hello Doctor, I Got A Very Small Cut From A
Question: Hello Doctor,
I got a very small cut from a nail today but that nail was really rusty. I am little worried if I would need to get a Tetanus vaccination. Sorry for asking such a silly question but I am little worried as it was caused by a really rusty nail so just wanted to confirm.
Request for your advice. Please note that I got TDAP Vaccination around 2.5 years back, I am not if it was a vaccincation or a booster shot.

Tdap vaccine protects against Tetanus,Diptheria and Whooping cough.It is given once in a life time.It is like a Booster.
As you have taken it 2.5 years back,there is no need for another Tetanus vaccine now.
It protects for 10 years.For adequate protection against Tetanus and Diptheria, you should take Td vaccine after 7.5 years.
Nothing to worry.
But,I request you to consult your doctor and get an Antibiotic and anti inflammatory tablet prescription.
