I want to understand if this is related to any nephro problem and if yes , what all tests can i do to rule out and help me understand the co relation between the c6 c7 disc prolapse as per my report and the nephro problem
Kindly advice if this rquires surgery and if yes please explain in detail what kind of surgery and what are the chances of Success and what can go wrong
Epidural injection would help.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.
I have noted your symptoms, treatment received so far and MRI reports.
The neck pain and right arm pain are due to a pinched nerve in the neck due to prolapsed disc. Your urinary symptoms are not related to cervical disc disease and it needs detailed evaluation by urologist and gynecologist.
Since medical treatment with pregabalin and gabapentin has failed, you would need epidural injection for pain relief. In this procedure, an anesthetist or a pain specialist gives an injection (of local anesthetic and steroids) at the area of nerve compression. This procedure is safe and is routinely done in all major hospitals.
In my opinion, surgery is not needed at this stage. However, if epidural injection also fails, surgery may be needed in about 10% of cases.
I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.
I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
Best wishes,
