I have a tampon stuck in my retum. Will it come out with a bm or do I need to go to the ER? Its has been in for about 40 mines and string go lost inside

Mostly it should come out with a bowel movement.
At times, it can get shredded or impacted or fail to come out.
To be reassured, I would ask you to go the ER and have a good nights sleep after removal.
