Getting Headaches Daily. Tried Pain Killers But No Help. All Tests Normal. How To Manage This Pain?
Question: I have had headaches of multiple types almost every day for the last fifty years. I manage them with non prescription pain killers but lately have found that these are doing very little and i am having to increase the amount I take. I have been examined and tested with no causes found. I need some help at least with managing the pain, any ideas?
WHAT HAS REALLY INCREASED IS THE DISCOMFORT OF THE MIGRAINES. I FIND THAT I AM ALMOST INCAPACITATED FOR THREE OR FOUR DAYS AT A TIME. MY VISION IS FOGGY AND I FEEL SICK IN MY STOMACH.

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
It is unfortunate that you are suffering from almost daily headaches and are not getting relief from the usual pain killers.
In my opinion, you should go for specific pain relievers that help in migraine, such as rizatriptan tablets or zolmitriptan nasal spray.
In addition, since your headaches are so frequent, you should also be on preventive medications (to reduce the severity and frequency of headaches). These medications include beta blockers, divalproex, Topiramate, etc.
I hope it helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries.
