For The Last Three Months Around Ovulation I Have Experienced

default
Posted on Fri, 15 Feb 2019
Question: For the last three months around ovulation I have experienced pain and bloating in the middle of my lower abdomen. Increased gas in the AM. When I walk/take steps, the pain pounds in that area. There is a feeling of fullness and discomfort. In December, one day the pain was so intense I could not even get out of bed without cringing. I did not take anything for it, instead just rested and used a heating pad. One of our good friends is an OB/GYN and he suggested I had some sort of cyst that ruptured. After that it’s continues. He now suggests mittelschmerz. After reading online about it, it does not seem to be the case being that that said it tends to frequent one side or the other. This is definitely in the center. My lower lower abdomen centered right above my pubic bone is slightly tender when touching. My cervival mucus is blood tinged. I am not pregnant, and before November I’ve never felt like this before. HPV negative, all normal paps. Any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Can be urinary infection or ovarian cyst.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have gone through your query and understand your health concerns.
A blood tinged cervical mucus and the pain in the middle of the lower abdomen that you have is likely to be related to a urinary infection that can be ruled out after a routine urine examination. This can be due to gas and indigestion or constipation also that can be associated with the hormonal changes associated with ovulation. In case of constipation you can have a mild laxative and see if it helps with the symptoms. The presence of any ovarian cyst also needs to be ruled out after an ultrasound scan.
I hope this answers your query.
