Posted on Wed, 22 Jun 2016
Question: Hi, I was due for my periods and started getting very light flow like spots. on 4th or 5th day I had my first intercourse ever(with no ejaculation inside). Two days after that I started getting proper flow with 3 -4 pads a day which is still continuing from about 14 days. To be on safe side i conducted Urine pregnancy kit test yesterday which was negative. After this doctor suggested me to take Pause tablet. I had about 5 tablets now, but no decrease in flow. some brief facts below
Light flow started = 20 days back
Intercourse = 15 days back
proper flow started = 13-14 days back
No other medicines taken only I had lot of Dates (palm Dates) few days back before my periods started. Pls suggest if any chances of pregnancy, hormonal inbalance, internal heat or some internal problem which is causing this.

Brief Answer:
no chance of pregnancy at all

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Welcome to HCM,

Do not worry about pregnancy at all, since you were not in the fertile period of cycle when you had sex.

Pause will stop bleeding, Take it thrice a day, after meals, it will take time to act but will be effective in a couple of days.

The dates don't effect the flow much, though some beleive that they may cause a heavy period, but nothing proven.

If this is the first cycle that you have this irregular bleeding, I would not worry much and wait for atleast 3 months before doing something about it.

If the bleeding worsens or does not stop after 5 days of tranexemic acid then contact your gynaecologist for a prescription of progestrone tablets to stop the flow.

Do not worry.
Hope this answers your query.
Regards.
