Does Prolactin Cause Infertility?
Question: Hello Doctor,
This a follow up of the below question.

For Prolactine value we met a General Physician and she advised to take Vitamin B6 tablet.
For Pregnency we were going for Follicular Monitoring and follicle size on 9th day -16mm, 11th day - 22mm and 13th day it us ruptured.
Here my question is, How prolactine is connected with infertility and what sort of problems it will create?

High prolactin needs to be treated

Hi,
High pro;actin levels do cause infertility and needs to be treated. It might lead to failure to get pregnant as well as difficulty in egg release.
Please ask your doctor to prescribe tablet cabgolin 0.5 mg twice a week for 2 weeks to reduce prolactin levels.
Only Vitamin B6 may not help.
