Does KY Jelly Affect The Chances Of Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Mon, 26 Oct 2015
Question: Hi doctor,
I got married recently. I am not able to insert my penis comfortably, because of no lubrication. Even if I am successful, I am losing erection after some time. My fore skin is being pulled back (more than 2 inches from tip, to around the mid of my erected penis). I am removing my penis when I feel something uncomfortable. I am feeling scary when I see my inner penis exposed like that. It’s not paining when it happens, but I am not feeling comfortable. Is it normal? Or is my fore skin too lose?
We want to have baby. One doctor suggested me to use KY jelly as lubricant. Does it affect the chances of pregnancy? Does this just reduce the chances of pregnancy or cause any other bad affect (like unhealthy pregnancy/baby)? Can I get it from regular medical store?
I read about Pre-seed Fertility-Friendly lubricant in the internet. Is this safe to use? Can you suggest me if there is any other best option for lubrication.
Does doing sex after having alcohol cause any bad effects (on pregnancy, etc.)?

Please help me.
Thanks you.

Brief Answer:
Pre-seed Fertility-Friendly lubricant is the safest to use for pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome back to HCM.

Glans penis beneath the foreskin is sensitive to touch. It causes very uncomfortable feelings if it is touch without sexual stimuli and lubrication. However that is absolutely normal. Most of the men pass through this phase during initial sex life. Gradually this sensitivity comes under control and man can enjoy the sex without any discomfort.
Easily retractable foreskin is rather an advantage for sex life. You can enjoy during sex without any discomfort. If it can go back behind rim of glans it is normal and 2 inches retraction is absolutely fine.

KY jelly reduces sperm motility and by that way it may affect pregnancy otherwise it is completely safe. However Pre-seed Fertility-Friendly lubricant is the lubricant which affects the sperms the least and that is why it is recommended when you want baby. It is the safest among all lubricants in that regard. But it is costlier also.

You can get both without prescription or even online mostly.

Sex after alcohol does not affect pregnancy. Once a while low amount of alcohol can help in increasing blood flow to penis and good for sex initially but more amount can cause opposite effects. So it is better to avoid the same for long time. Overall alcohol is not good for sex life.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
