Question: Can escitalopram cause urinary urgency in a man? He is also experiencing side effects of the escitalopram. Sweating, increased fatigue somnolence and ejaculation disorder.

Hello,

escitalopram may (rarely though) cause various problems related to urination, like increased frequency and volume of urination and even increased rate of urinary tract infection. A urinary tract infection may cause urgency.

Other potential causes may include: prostatic enlargement, diabetes mellitus and insipidus, too much water or other fluids, hypercalcemia, etc.

He'd better do a urinalysis to check for infection.
