Question: I develop flu like symptoms two days ago now i have a lump underneath my jawline and am starting to develop swollen gums, what could this be?

In viral infection, there do occur gum swelling.
Some other risk factors where gum swelling is a manifestation are
1.Tobacco use
2.Chemotherapy
3.Fungal infection
4.Sensitivity to toothpaste or mouthwash
5.Drug side effect
6.Malnutrition, particularly Vitamin C deficiency.
