Question: Dear Doctor,
I am 36 year old.
Weight 93kg, Height 5ft 4inch.I am G6PD deficient.

Since last few weeks I feel some small ringing in my ears which only I can listen it.
Sometimes it is in left and sometimes it is in right or sometimes both.

It's more noticeable at night and in silent areas.
(THERE ARE DAYS WHEN I DONT EVEN FEEL IT AND I AM HAPPY AND I FORGET ABOUT IT)

It all started suddenly at 1 month back when I felt my left ear got blocked and can hear a tingling sound...

That time I went to my physician I monitored my BP and it was high 160/100.
I thought it might be due to sudden stress which I took thinking about this ear problem. As I am a very nervous person when it comes to my health. And also I have white coat hypertension.

So later on my doctor increased my dosage of Nebicard 2.5 to Nebicard 5 every morning.

I am also taking lonazep 0.25mg for anxiety and sleep issues every night.

For common cold and throat irritation doctor gave me Augmentin 625 twice which I finished the course.

Still I feel a bit disturbed and sad when I get to hear that teeeeeee sound.. It's a bit irritating. So i am totally confused and worried about it..

So what do I do??
Can it be sinus or some blocked eustachian tubes makes ear pressure problem?
Can it be due to High blood pressure?
I still have little sore throat.
I ALSO WANT TO POINT 1 THING IS THAT BEFORE ALL THIS STARTED I GOT A BAD HIT ON MY HEAD CROWN AREA. I DINT FEEL DIZY NOT ANY VOMIT STILL I TOOK chymoral forte and I had some swelling.

Pls revert me what i should do??
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hii. There are many reasons of ringing sensation of ear. The causes are hearing loss from nerve weakness, exposure of pound sound, acute infection of the middle part of ear, arteriovenous malformation, eustachian tube dysfunction, laxity of the neck muscles, any tumor of cerebropontine angle tumor. Most of the other causes are unknown. You can do a hearing test. If hearing is found low then it's better to have a hearing aid as it will increase the hearing power and decrease the effects of the inner ringing sensation. You also need to do an endoscopy to see the nasopharynxand the eustachian tube status. If any dysfunction or any allergic components are there then you should start nasal fluticasone spray. Rest of the causes of ringing sensation has no specific treatment. You can do a MRI Brain to see any pathology is present or not. If MRI brain is normal then it's better to ignore the sound. Switch on radio at low volume and fan during sleep so that the ringing sensation can be avoided. Avoid noise free environment, excessive tea, coffee, salt. Relax and lead a stress free life. It will decrease over time. Follow the above guidelines. Review if you have any queries.

Thankyou doctor for your revert.
I just have few queries.
1. Is this tinnitus?
2. Can this be due to any vitamin deficiency?
3. As you said I will do hearing test but I can feel that sometimes If I can pop my ear than it will be good as I can feel a slight block in ear (same as when water goes)
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hii. This is tinnitus only. Please do the nasal endoscopy and hearing tests and review. Also follow up with an ENT surgeon. You can take a vitamin supplement as it may strength the nerve. Don't need to worry. Just follow previous guidelines and consult an ENT surgeon.
