Coil Inside Me Is Upside Down. Can You Please Advise If This Is Normal?
Question: Hi i was in hospital back in december the doctor informed me my coil was in upside down can you please advise if this is normal

An upside down coil is not likely to produce any adverse effect on your body due to its position. Its contraceptive efficacy remains the same. There is nothing worrisome as long as you can feel the thread in place.
In some cases if the uterus is in retroverted position, the coil seems to be upside down but that does not affect its function at all. So do not worry.

If the doctors are not able to locate the thread, then pregnancy needs to be excluded and you need to have an ultrasound scan of abdomen to locate the coil.
