Question: Hello Doct.

I hope this mail finds you and your family well.

For the past few days I have been having some sensitivity in my left leg bone in my shin area on a particular spot and also from the last fews I noticed a bit of itching on my left knee. I scratched and it would relapse every day. Now the itching has spread in almost all the parts of the body and makes me uncomfortable to even sleep as it worsens at night and even wakes me up since the last 4-5 days. Tried even levocetrizine 10 mg but it didnt work much.

History about me - Vegan since 3 years, Occasional smoking (3-4 times a year) , occasionally drinking (once in 2-3 months), had a very sedentary lifestyle since the last 2 years due to lockdown and woulnt even venture out at all hence, had gained weight of 73 kg and now since 2 months I reduced my food intake especially eliminated rice and now I have lunch (reduced quantity) only of dals/lentils or vegetables without roti or rice and in dinner either roti/jowar/bajra along with vegetables but without rice and my weight has been reduced to 69 kgs.

I request you to please guide looking at my reports and also please suggest me something to immediately reduce my itching problem. Thank you so much!

Right now I have been prescribed Vit D3 60k tab once a week and Fexofenadine since yesterday as I have high phosphorus levels in the serum. My concern is will it only neutralise the phosphorus from the food that I am about to intake or will it also neutralise those already circulating in the system. When can I expect relief from itching? Please advise how to maintain and avoid such in future.

Brief Answer:
Itching

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Can you upload a photo of the rash on the leg?
It seems that you have intense itching and it can be controled by ointment of steroid like Betnovate to be applied twice a day only on affected area for of 5-7 days consecutively.
Coconut oil can also help lower the redness, if any. It can be used on prolonged basis.

Drink cleaner water with lower TDS. Take food that is easily digestible like fruits, wheat, rice, dal, veggies, cow's milk. Wheat can be taken in lower quantity, if intolerant. Otherwise it is ok to take. It is not good eliminate grains on long term. You may also reduce the intake of meat and high calorie foods like sweets.
Butter and ghee is ok to take.
In home remedies you can jeera powder 1 tsp twice a day for 3-5 days. Also you take take a spoon of honey, add some turmeric and black pepper powder to it and take it twice a day for 3 days.

You can raise a diet plan request and our dietician can suggest you diet plan accordingly.
How much is your phosphorus levels. Have you done kidney function test? Please upload the reports so that I am better able to help.
