Brief Answer:
It is common during premenopause

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I read your query and here is my advice
I think that the prolonged period and spotting you are having is related to hormonal imbalance due to premenopause. I think you will have light bleeding or spotting until you are officially in menopause.
I don't think you may need to get concerned.
It happens in most of perimenopausal women .
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.

Thanks for your timely reply. How long does it typically take to reach full menopause once cycle irregularities occur? Is it typical to bleed stright through for weeks at a time during perimenopause? Should I be taking an iron suppliment?
