default
Posted on Mon, 24 Nov 2014
Question: Hi,

I am writing this with a general query. I have a 5 month old baby. One of our family members has psoriasis. Since it is an auto immune disorder, can it be harmful anyhow to leave my baby with that relative?
I have heard that as babies have low immunity, her immunity can be compromised by contact with such people.

Please guide me.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
don't worry about the baby

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
Nice to see you again.
I can understand your concern.
You need not have to worry as psoriasis is autoimmune disorder it will not spread from one person to another.
It is inflammation, not infection (caused by bacteria, viruses, fungus) so there is no possibility of spreading the disease.
Also immunity of the child will not be affected by another psoritic patient.
Hope i helped you.
