Can Blood Pressure And Eating Disorder Cause Edema--painful Swollen Ankles?

Question: Since ALL other causes have been ruled out, maybe the doctors will finally listen that I suspect I was being given some kind of poison/toxin in small doses over a several month time period last summer 2017. I became severely anemic reaquiring transfusions, lost over 50 lbs in 2 1/2 months , sudden onst extremely high blood pressure not responding. Anyway still have the high blood pressure (Reading about it must be secondary hypertension)m unable to gain weight back despit good appetitie and eating a LOT, and some other symptoms. could these have been caused by poiisoning and have changed my body, cells, etc and are permanent. I need to know because ther doctor is accusing me of having an eating disorder and also keeps upping the blood pressure medication, with 0 lowering of blood pressure and worse and worse edema--painful swollen ankles. what is your take?

Hi,

After hearing your history since you are having high blood pressure it is not connected to poisoning you had. It could be due to 2 causes mainly cardiological and renal problem I would advise you to do 2D echocardiography test, usg of whole abdomen and blood for renal function test.

The swollen ankles could be due to blood pressure medicine you are having specially the calcium channel blockers and if it persists you are advised to change your type of bp medications and avoid any calcium channel blocker group of bp medication
