Question: is it okay to take inhaler many times a day when having an asthma attack.. please call me 0000

No, this is not good practice.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Need of frequent inhaler in a day is suggestive of poor asthma control.
So this should be treated.
First consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
PFT will tell you about severity of the disease.
And treatment of asthma is based on severity only.
Newer inhalers are having long acting bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
Their action lasts for 10-12 hours. So only twice daily dosing is required. Oral combination of antihistamine and anti allergic drugs is also useful in asthma control.
So please let me know
1. Which inhaler you are taking?
2. Are you having cough, fever?

He is having uncontrolled asthma. Better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
He needs long acting inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide).
He also needs combination of antihistamine (levocetrizine or fexofenadine) and anti allergic (montelukast) drugs.
