Question: can protoxin cause chills and shivering at night? Husband has been on the medication for 11 days and is have terrible night tremors and chills. He has also lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks.

I am so sorry to hear about these chills and the weight loss that your husband has. Chills are a known side effect of protonic. However, the severity and the weight loss you have reported doesn't seem typical to me. I will suggest that you talk to the doctors and get your husband fully evaluated again. 20lbs weight loss in 2weeks means something is terribly wrong with his eating. I am not sure if the ulcer for which he's been treated is the reason for not eating much but it doesn't seem right.

Also, if these chills only started after taking protonix, the doctor might want to switch to another anti-ulcer drug to see if this gets better.
