default
Posted on Mon, 21 Dec 2015
Question: My 4 yr old daughter has been having green discharge/rheum from right eye since this morning. Two years back, when she had similar issue, doctor prescribed Moxicip 5ml eye drops. Please suggest if we can use the same this time too. If so, please let us know how many drops to be put and how many times a day and for how many days. Should we use it for both the eyes or just the affected eye

She doesn't have itching nor does she rub her eye. The affected right eye is slightly red. The left eye has no issues. photographs are attached.

Brief Answer:
This is bacterial infection and needs treatment as under!

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back and thanks for the follow up details. I appreciate the efforts for uploading pictures in a timely fashion. Redness in her eye is very mild and is due to infection and inflammation. It will soon be over.

Well, if I was her treating Physician I would have prescribed her with Moxicip eye drops to be used only for the affected eye (2 drops, 2times a day for 5 days). And of course a follow up after that.

You may consult your local Ophthalmologist for the same prescription. He will do the physical examination and will go for the prescription accordingly.
